The main objective of the Girls Who Chat program is to empower girls to lead fulfilling lives as adults, breaking free from the constraints of past traumas, anger, or the burdensome ties of their youth. Our curriculum focuses on fostering love and establishing a solid foundation of social and emotional understanding as they transition into adulthood.
Over a span of seven weeks, our program centers around the vital aspects of social and emotional learning (SEL). We create a secure and inclusive space where young girls, ideally in high school, can openly explore their emotions, nurture a sense of sisterhood, and embrace their true selves. Through engaging sessions held on Saturdays, we encourage bonding and authentic conversations about the challenges they face on their personal journeys of growth and self-improvement.
If you know a student or young girl who could benefit from connecting with others and sharing their experiences, we kindly urge you to encourage them to register by completing the form below. Let us come together to foster a supportive environment where these young girls can build lasting friendships, uplift one another, and navigate life's obstacles with strength and resilience.
The Acknowledgment Curriculum is the foundation of The Girls Who Chat program, designed to empower minority girls to overcome trauma, build emotional intelligence, and find their voices in media and communication. The curriculum addresses the emotional impacts of inherited trauma, especially in communities where past trauma remains unresolved, providing tools to process emotions and foster resilience.
Participants start with social and emotional learning (SEL) to develop self-awareness and effective communication. This SEL foundation equips them to navigate their personal lives and future careers, focusing on empathy, emotional processing, and self-expression.
Once grounded in SEL, students move into podcasting. The curriculum guides them to create episodes centered around their emotional growth and the lessons they've learned. They will write scripts, lead conversations, and produce content that reflects their personal stories and insights.
The program also teaches sound engineering and editing, giving students the technical skills to produce professional-quality podcasts. This hands-on experience helps them gain proficiency in both content creation and production.
Through The Girls Who Chat, students will build self-esteem, address issues like depression and teen suicide, and develop the confidence to lead important conversations. By combining emotional growth with creative and technical skills, the program empowers young women to heal, inspire, and potentially pursue careers in broadcasting and media.
Endorsed by LoveLanguage Inc., "The Girls Who Chat" is a program designed to help young girls build healthy, loving relationships with themselves and others. Through the program, they will develop strong communication skills, learn to express their emotions effectively, and boost their self-esteem.
